Step aside, Barry Manilow. Rep. Ron Paul’s bringing in the big celebrity guns.
Vince Vaughn, of Wedding Crashers and The Break-Up fame, introduced the Lake Jackson representative at the Liberty Political Action Conference in Reno this weekend.LPAC is an annual forum for “freedom activists” to come together and discuss conservative and libertarian values and policies.
In photos posted on the Paul campaign website, the congressman and his son, Sen. Rand Paul, can be seen chatting with Vaughn. Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton issued a statement in which he called the congressman and the celebrity “friends.”
“Ron and Vince are friends, with Vince not merely interested in Dr. Paul’s philosophy but he also graciously invited Dr. and Mrs. Paul to the premier of his film ‘Couples Retreat,’” he said.
Vaughn is also an outspoken fan of the congressman’s book, “End the Fed,” having penned an endorsement of it proclaiming “everyone must read this book.”
