Liberty (and Tyranny) begins at home

It is important to remember that even though the Presidential election is sexy, and as much as I love Ron Paul , the fate of this country does not depend on this election. Truthfully, the President (the federal government as a whole) should have very limited powers. The fate of this country lies at the local level and with us people. We must elect Sheriffs who will arrest Federal agents who try to enforce unconstitutional laws. We must elect councilmen, mayors, education board members, governors, etc... who believe in Liberty. We must be willing to sit on juries and nullify laws that prosecute people accused of "crimes" that have no victim. Establishing liberty begins and ends in your hometown. I recommend joining the libertarian party and making it a strong viable party at your local level. I work full time and go to school at night so I am often unable to attend my local party events etc...so the only way I have of instituting real change is to express myself through my blogs and social media...my reason for saying this is to suggest that you do what you can, and even though it's fun to be in a movement remember that defeating tyranny begins at home.

  1. Mike, we are in real trouble right now. We have a President that has decided he wants to be a dictator and is giving us the almighty "finger" while trampling on our constitutional rights.
Obama figures that by the time the law catches up with him he will be out of office or have so much power there won't be elections. He is starting up a whole new agency. He continues to grow the Government and is spending us into oblivion.
Our representatives are too busy insider trading and writing legislation to improve their stock positions to challenge him.
We have lost our bill of rights and the constitution has been obliterated and now the congress has been totally ignored. We are dead meat!

Ron Paul has really given life to the Liberty movement. It starts with us, but we need more principled people like him to get involved and run for elected office.

Mike, to address the very things you point out we must do if we want liberty to prevail, I have created two organizations to challenge and eventually supplant our governments, the People's Protection Court and OM (Our Voice). Here are their statutes:

You're right, Mike. Thanks for doing what you can. The point you are making is correct. Our fate doesn't rest in the results of the election. Our resolve to be involved and to vote is what gives the election results. Our involvement is not only in Federal elections but also in local ones too. The people we choose (or allow to be chosen when we don't exercise our vote) should always be the people we WANT in those offices instead: people who share our vision and values. Any vote made for the person you feel is the best person for that office isn't a wasted vote.
