Could southern California secede from the rest of the State? At least one county rep. says yes!

Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone is leading a campaign for as many as 13 Southern California counties to secede from the state. According to CBS News Stone said:

“Our taxes are too high, our schools don’t educate our children well enough, unions and other special interests have more clout in the Legislature than the general public.”

Secession is a reasonable idea. California is a tyrannical Monster with a leviathan government so dysfunctional that citizens are not even allowed to renew there automobile registrations at the time of this writing.

According to Oxnard resident James Troxell, secession could work: "This state is too big, we need to break it up, but his (Stone's) plan needs some serious tweaking, " He said. "for some reason Jeff Stone thinks it would be popular with the secessionist crowd to eliminate term limits, and he would also need to include Counties like Ventura, Kern, and other conservative counties, but I'm all for it. The politicians in Sacramento don't represent guys like me."

Stone said in a statement late Thursday that Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono counties should form the new state of South California, which would have a part time time legislature with no term limits.

Should California divide into two or more states? Be sure to vote in the online poll
